Biography

Dr. Hoffmann was born in Kansas City, Missouri, where he grew up in the Midtown area and later in Raytown, Missouri. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1978 and then spent the next five years completing an internal medicine residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Hoffmann moved to Lawrence in September 1983 and has been practicing here since.

He is an excellent provider. He never makes you feel rushed pike he has to run to the next patient. He gives you all his time and attention. Answers all your questions and in terms you can understand. He is caring and genuine.

I have been under Dr Hoffmann's care for more than 30 years. He always takes the time to listen and understand my problems, and then looks to find ways to improve my health. He has helped me through many difficult health situations. I always feel he is concerned about what he can do to improve my health.

I suspect that the reason the provider was beyond the 15 minute wait time in seeing me is because he was reviewing my extensive recent history of medical tests, procedures and operations. For that reason, I don't hold it against him for being a little late in seeing me.
