What Dr. Konie wants patients to know: “It’s said over and over again but it can’t be overstated, one of the most important things is to listen to patients and understand them as individuals. This is done by finding out what they need, what’s important to them, what outcomes they expect, what they know and what they don’t know and making sure they understand everything and get all their questions answered. It really takes a comprehensive approach to understand patients as individuals before we can decide, together, if surgery can help.”
