As the athletic trainer at Eudora High School, Bob Rusche feels like part of the community.
“Everyone has been so friendly and accepting,” he said. “It makes me want to work harder to keep the student-athletes here active and in the game.”
Before Bob called Lawrence home, that honor went to the small town of Baileyville, Kansas. Bob moved to Lawrence to attend the University of Kansas and has called it home ever since. He earned his undergraduate degree in athletic training at KU, followed by a master’s in higher education administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He’s an experienced athletic trainer, having worked as a graduate athletic trainer at UMKC followed by 14 years as the athletic trainer at Highland Park High School in Topeka.
“I really enjoy working with high school athletes because they’re at a pivotal time in their lives and careers. It gives me the opportunity to help rehabilitate injuries that may arise while also having the chance to offer a little mentorship at a crucial time for student-athletes.”
