Heather Sleichter, APRN, earned her undergraduate degree at Emporia State University and her masters from the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and a member of the American Nurses Association.
Sleichter entered the medical profession after her twin brother suffered traumatic injuries following a car accident. She has a background working in the emergency room, pediatrics and family medicine.
“I really appreciate adult medicine and preventative health. I try to treat the entire patient and get to know the support group around them.”
Prior to joining LMH Health, Sleichter worked as a family nurse practitioner at Oasis Family Medicine in Topeka, KS. She believes that family support is the most important part of the healing process and it also plays a part of the prevention process.
“In my first visits, I really like to know and understand where my patients come from before I treat them. I also like to know the resources that the patient has available, such as insurance and current cost of their medications. I want to talk to my patients about what I would like to do and what they would to do and any concerns they may have.”
