Dr. Terry Riordan graduated magna cum laude from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1974. He went on to study medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, fulfilling his pediatric residency and internship at the Letterman Army Medical Center at Presidio in San Francisco.
From 1980 to 1983, he served as Chief of Pediatrics at Reynolds Army Hospital in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During this time, Dr. Riordan was also a staff member for other hospitals in that area. In 1983, he and his wife, Elaine, moved to Lawrence.
Dr. Riordan is committed not only to quality healthcare for his patients, but also to having parents understand and actively participate in the medical care of their children. He is board certified in Pediatrics.
Dr. Riordan has been a past board member for the Douglas County Health Department, past board member of Cottonwood and taken part in Trinity Community Services. He served as Chairman of the Douglas County Planning Commission in 2005 and 2006. He is an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and has provided active support for both St. John's Church and School and Corpus Christi Church and School. He and Elaine are part of other charitable organizations as well. They have six children; Kristin, Kelly, John, Matt, Mark and Joe.
