LMH Health welcomes rheumatologist Dr. Joy-Ann Tabanor-Gayle to the team. She is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine and is located at the Internal Medicine Group, 4525 W. Sixth Street.
“I chose to become a physician out of a lifelong interest in the complexity of the human body and the desire to be in a career field that requires lifelong learning, as well as playing an active role in community health,” she said. “What I love most about being a rheumatologist is being able to witness the impact that a correct diagnosis and instituting a treatment plan can have on a patient’s life.”
Dr. Tabanor-Gayle earned her medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica, where she was honored as valedictorian of her graduating class. She completed her internal medicine residency at the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey, where she served as chief resident for the program, and completed her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Connecticut. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American College of Physicians and American Medical Association.
