LMH Health welcomes Alex Winkler, MD
LMH Health welcomes primary care physician Dr. Alex Winkler to the team. He is board-certified in family medicine and is located at LMH Health Primary Care – Tonganoxie.

While he was originally interested in becoming a pharmacist like his mother, Dr. Winkler soon learned that he wanted to have a role that allowed him to spend more time with his patients.
“I chose to go into family medicine for a couple of reasons, mostly for the long-standing relationship I’m able to build with patients over time,” he said. “I also have lots of interests, from treating children to adults, sports medicine, mental health and addiction. I’m interested in a lot of things. Family medicine is the only place you can really do that.”
Dr. Winkler began his medical career as a medical assistant and record clerk at Reed Internal Medicine, now known as LMH Health Primary Care – 6th and Maine, while pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
It’s important to Dr. Winkler to work collaboratively with his patients. That’s one of the cornerstones of his practice.
“I want our relationship to be a partnership between the doctor and patient, so we explore things and come to decisions together,” he said. “My role is to educate and help you navigate the system rather than make decisions for you.”
