LMH Health selects long-time Lawrence leader as Chief Financial Officer

LMH Health has selected long-time Lawrence leader Rob Chestnut, CMA, MBA, as its chief financial officer. Chestnut will join the organization on May 20.

Chestnut has more than 30 years of executive-level finance experience in a number of industries. He has over 10 years of executive experience in healthcare settings. In 2017, Chestnut received the Kansas City Business Journal CFO of the Year award. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Evolution Research Group, a national clinical trials company managing sites in seven states.

“Rob has a clear commitment to LMH Health, which shows through his passion for the hospital,” said Russ Johnson, LMH Health president and CEO. “His years of financial experience with a range of organizations will be invaluable to us going forward.”

Chestnut is a familiar face at LMH Health, having served on the Board of Trustees for 12 years and chairing the Finance committee for six years. Trustees oversee the organization, assuming ultimate responsibility for quality of care, patient safety, and the financial soundness and success of LMH.

In addition to his work as a Trustee, Chestnut previously served on the Lawrence City Commission. He was elected to a four-year term from 2007-11, serving as mayor from 2009-10.

Chestnut earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Kansas School of Professional Studies.
