LMH Health names Jan Wiebe as Chief Nursing Officer

LMH Health has named Jan Wiebe, MSN, RN, as its Chief Nursing Officer. She will begin her new role on March 31.

Wiebe has worked in nursing for 35 years, with 18 years in a management role. She came to LMH Health in 2017 as the Emergency Department director and recently filled the role of interim Chief Nursing Officer. Prior to joining LMH, Wiebe worked for Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics for 28 years.

“Jan is a longstanding member of the Lawrence community; she knows our hospital, our nursing leaders, our physicians and our patients,” said Russ Johnson, LMH Health president and CEO. “Jan has been an integral part of our leadership team for the past seven years, and her new role is one example of the opportunities for our staff to develop and grow. I look forward to working with her to support our nursing teams and their outstanding work delivering high-quality healthcare for the communities we serve.”

Wiebe earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Kansas and a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and the Emergency Nurses Association.

“Being part of a community hospital that provides excellent care is very rewarding. I’m passionate about providing a high level of care to our patients and continuing that work in my new role,” Wiebe said. “I look forward to using my leadership experience to continue to care for the community where I’ve lived and raised a family for 35 years.”
