Creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone
LMH Health is committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. We continue to expand our health equity efforts and stand firm on this commitment, using our resources, teams and tools to increase access to care and engaging our community to understand where we can improve.
We will continue to build our knowledge and understanding of how best to care for patients and families wherever they are from and whatever their traditions, customs, preferences and expectations are. That is what being an inclusive organization means to us.
Our physicians and providers treat all patients with evidence-based treatment plans that are individualized to meet their healthcare needs. This approach to care involves informed consent so patients can make the best decision about their care. For pediatric patients, this includes informed consent and decision making with the patient and parents or guardians.
One hundred years ago, in her founding gift for Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Elizabeth Miller Watkins stipulated that no person shall be excluded on account of race or physical, social or financial condition – we have expanded these founding principles to include gender identity and sexual orientation. Our purpose remains the same - “A partner for lifelong health” - increasing opportunities for everyone to live the healthiest life possible.
