LMH Health Chief Information Officer earns ORBIE Award
KansasCityCIO presented the 2023 ORBIE® Awards earlier this month, recognizing chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in leadership. LMH Health vice president and Chief Information Officer Michael Williams has been named as the winner of the large corporate ORBIE.
Michael Williams
“The importance of technology in healthcare grows by the day,” said Russ Johnson, LMH Health president and CEO. “Michael’s innovative leadership is instrumental in identifying and implementing technologies that improve the health of our patients, the work of our clinicians and the communities we serve.”
The ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since its inception in 1998, over 700 technology leaders across the country have received the ORBIE Award. Finalists and winners are selected by an independent peer review process led by prior ORBIE recipients based on:
- Leadership and management effectiveness
- Business value created by technology innovation
- Engagement in industry and community endeavors
"Member-led, non-commercial programs like the ORBIE Awards build meaningful professional relationships with colleagues facing similar challenges, solving problems and avoiding pitfalls," said Jana Merfen, KansasCityCIO Chair. "Successful leaders understand the 'superpower' of trusted relationships. In any gathering of technology leaders, the answer is in the room."
Williams is honored to be recognized by his peers and colleagues in the field of technology.
“In the world of Information Technology, we've always known that IT is a team sport; it takes a team to be successful. This award means the world to me because it's a recognition of the incredible IT team we have in our organization,” Williams said. “This award celebrates our shared passion for innovation and the amazing strides we're making. I'm truly touched by this recognition, and I can't thank our team enough for their hard work and creativity.”
