With clinics and facilities located in Douglas, Franklin, Jefferson and Leavenworth Counties, LMH Health’s purpose is to be a partner for lifelong health. State-of-the-art technology, modern facilities and talented staff help make LMH a regional destination for exceptional care.
A family atmosphere
“Right out of high school, I joined LMH Health as a secretary. Immediately, I fell in love with the family atmosphere and the commitment to improving the health of the community,” said Alyssa Austin, RN, BSN, clinical manager at LMH Health’s Lawrence OB-GYN Specialists. “Today as part of the leadership team, I am proud to give back to the city that I love. LMH Health puts patients first and empowers everyone to make the area a healthier place to live.”
Ingram’s is a business publication that covers both Missouri and Kansas; highlighting trends in business, industry and the economy throughout the greater Kansas City metro area. It’s “Best Companies to Work For” edition spotlights the best blend of management practices, workplace environment, civic engagement, training and compensation and benefits for employees by identifying how their employers developed admirable work places.
Supportive work environment
Colleen Browne, vice president and chief people officer at LMH Health, believes that a supportive, excellent work environment is vital to the health care system’s success.
“We believe our associates provide the very best in patient care, and our job is to support them by creating an outstanding work environment,” said Browne. “We are committed to career growth and professional development in-house and through our many community partnerships. We celebrated over 100 promotions last year, and it’s exciting to see individuals grow and be successful. While the pandemic has presented numerous challenges to healthcare institutions, our associates have been amazing through it all. The LMH culture and commitment to our community is second to none. We’ve had to think differently and meet our associates where they are in their needs and wants. We’ve tried to be as flexible as possible with our staff – we implemented telework where we can, we relaxed some policies, and have provided onsite counseling assistance for associates to help and support them. We are very proud of the LMH team.”
Committed to quality care for patients
In addition to being named as one of the best companies to work in the region, LMH Health was recently awarded its fourth “A” grade from the Leapfrog Group – a nonprofit group that serves as the nation’s premier advocate of transparency in healthcare specific to patient safety.
