What is Rock the Block - Kick Cancer?

Rock the Block – Kick Cancer is LMH Endowment’s annual fundraiser for oncology programs at LMH Health. The night is packed with fun music, dancing and costumes in celebration of our community’s rock stars – our cancer fighters and survivors. The event is highlighted by the Rock Star Ceremony, honoring survivors, cancer fighters and their caregivers.

This year’s Rock the Block – Kick Cancer event will be held Friday, October 26, at Dale Willey Chevrolet from 6-10 p.m. Doors open for Rock Star Survivors, caregivers and sponsors at 5 p.m. Thanks to our sponsors, there is no cost for cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers to attend. Individual tickets are $45 for community members. Tables of eight may be purchased for $500.

Rock the Block – Kick Cancer is also a great opportunity to meet and interact with LMH physicians and key community leaders, and to enter your name to win one of several elaborately themed baskets.

The event funds needs within LMH Oncology and its associated funds. In 2017, proceeds from Rock the Block – Kick Cancer helped with the purchase of vital signs towers in oncology patient rooms. In 2018, proceeds will:

• Support endowed funds for LMH Oncology and Catch a Break, LMHEA’s fund to assist with the costs of cancer survivorship, in order to ensure long-term support for the department and survivors in need.
• Provide funding for immediate needs within LMH Oncology.
• Support cancer prevention by providing cancer screening exams for patients who might not otherwise be able to afford it.

The fight against cancer is best fought by a strong community coming together to champion our survivors through education of cancer detection and prevention, awareness of population health initiatives, and the support of the departments and funds like LMH Oncology and Catch a Break that help our rock stars kick cancer.

Dance the night away with music by 105.9 FM. Check out all of the fantastic theme baskets donated by LMH Health departments and community members; each chance to take a basket home is just $1. This year’s event will also feature special live auction items and an opportunities to purchase “Buy it Now” gift cards from our friends on the Catch a Break committee. This is a night you won’t want to miss!
