Treatment & Care: Chemotherapy

Day 82: Feeling good again, now that I’ve recovered from my first chemo treatment. Here’s hoping Round 2 goes smoothly.

Dr. Soule, Oncologist at LMH Oncology CenterAfter the chemo side effects I wrote about previously, I just want to quickly let everyone know that I am doing very well now – I've fully recovered from my first treatment. If you read my last post, then you know the chemo kicked my butt all over the place! I was a little caught off guard by my difficulty with the chemo because, quite frankly, I thought I was tougher than that.

But now I know firsthand what to expect, and in an effort to make round two a little less rough, I will soon be meeting with Dr. Soule, my oncologist at LMH, to make some adjustments. My next chemo treatment is in nine days. I plan to enjoy this next week as much as I can and do my best to prepare for what has been absolutely the most awful thing I have ever experienced in my life. Bucking up, digging in my heels, and focusing on being grateful for the fact that I only have to do it four times, which is way less than most people fighting cancer.

So, I’m not afraid…I’m ready. Ready for another hit – bring it on, chemo!
