About the Author

Originally from western Kansas, Megan and her family have lived in Lawrence since 1995. In the fall of 2013, Megan was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 38. She is a devoted mother, a hard-working professional, a fun-loving friend, a cherished daughter and now, a cancer survivor. From testing and diagnosis to surgery and chemotherapy, Megan chose LMH for her cancer care. Looking back, she says it was one of the best decisions she’s ever made – through LMH she had access to high quality care with all the comforts of home.

The content of this blog is adapted from an online journal Megan kept to share updates with her family and friends while undergoing treatment for breast cancer in late 2013 through April 2014. Megan has given LMH permission to share her story through “Megan’s Journal.” The sequence of events is true as depicted.
