Spacious Patient Suites
Labor and Delivery Rooms
Our private birthing suites include a convertible couch for your partner, a flat-screen television, and a whirlpool tub equipped with air jets and a hand-held sprayer. We also have a labor and delivery suite with a walk-in shower (instead of a tub) for those with special mobility needs or issues. For your baby’s arrival, all our labor and delivery rooms also include a warmer, safety equipment and a scale.
C-Section Surgical Suites
A Cesarean delivery (also known as a C-Section) is a surgical procedure for delivering babies. Our C-Section surgical suites are specially designed for planned or unplanned C-section deliveries, and they offer the same comfortable environment as our labor and delivery rooms. After delivery, C-section moms and babies share a private postpartum recovery room.
Private Postpartum/Recovery Rooms
After delivery (which is the start of the postpartum period), you and your baby will share a comfortable and relaxing private room. All our postpartum recovery rooms include a flat-screen television, a whirlpool tub with customizable heat settings, and white noise machines to create a quiet, restful environment. These rooms are large enough for extended family visits, with plenty of room for you and your baby. Our recovery rooms also include sleeper sofas for overnight guests.
Fetal Monitoring System
From the moment you arrive, a highly sensitive and fully mobile fetal monitoring system will monitor your baby’s heart beat and the progress of your labor to ensure you both receive the best possible care. Our wireless fetal monitoring equipment combines safety with mobility – while we monitor you and your baby’s well-being, you are free to walk around your room and the birthing center, or even relax in your private whirlpool tub.
Level II Nursery for Specialized Care
Our Level II Special Care Nursery is supported by neonatologists, equipped with the latest technology and staffed by competent, compassionate professionals. If your baby needs a little extra attention, he or she will be cared for by our team of registered nurses and medical doctors who are specially trained in the care of infants born premature or in need of special medical care.
Personal Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding is natural and oh-so healthy, but it isn't always easy. It can take infants and new mothers a little while to get used to breastfeeding. Experts in our Infant Nutrition Center and The Perfect Fit provide personal lactation support to help you establish and sustain successful breastfeeding to make sure nutritional goals are met – even after you go home. We proudly participate in High 5 for Mom & Baby Premier, a program that aims to improve breastfeeding success in Kansas through hospital care. LMH Health supports a baby-friendly environment to empower you with the right level of support for success in breastfeeding. In fact, moms who give birth at LMH Health have a breastfeeding rate of 90 percent.
