The Catch a Break Fund
The Catch a Break Fund at LMH Health Foundation helps cancer patients and survivors in our community pay for day-to-day needs like medications, car repairs, utilities and food. Your financial gift will allow the recipient to "catch a break" during one of the most difficult times in their life.
In 2007, Catch a Break started as a small grassroots organization to help a few women who were battling breast cancer. Cindy Sargent, a survivor herself, experienced the overwhelming burdens and wanted to help ease the path for others. With the help of friends and volunteers, Cindy aimed to assist fellow cancer survivors with the “cost of survivorship” during the holidays. She launched this program by adopting six families, providing gifts and cash assistance.
In 2010, Catch a Break joined the LMH Health Foundation family of charitable opportunities. With your support, this program continues to help survivors and their families each year.
"I personally give to Catch a Break because I want to make a difference for someone in need right now. This program provides hope during trying times, and I have witnessed this firsthand." - Dr. Jodie Barr, LMH Oncology & Hematology Center
How the program works
