Heart Disease Prevention and Wellness

When it comes to matters of the heart, prevention is the key to wellness. Lifestyle changes are the first step to preventing heart disease in women and men:

  • Don't smoke – read these tips to help you quit smoking
  • Eat a heart-healthy diet that includes plenty of fish, fruits, vegetables, beans, high-fiber grains and breads, and olive oil
  • Get regular exercise
  • Lower your stress level
  • Get regular health screenings
  • Maintain a healthy weight

Cardiopulmonary Wellness

Once you’ve completed our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, or if you have ongoing risk factors for heart disease, we recommend participating in our Cardiopulmonary Wellness program. This maintenance program will keep you on the path to heart disease prevention and a strong and healthy heart.

Diabetes Education Center

Diabetes can be a risk factor for heart disease. Learn to control your diabetes through classes, educational materials, and ongoing support and monitoring provided by our diabetes experts at the Diabetes Education Center.
