“As the director of sports medicine, I’m constantly searching for ways to elevate our approach to care. Top sports medicine programs do three things better than others – education, research and clinical practice. I’m passionate about working on these initiatives.”
Dan Lorenz isn’t only the Director of Sports Medicine at LMH Health OrthoKansas, he’s the only fellowship-trained physical therapist in sports physical therapy in Lawrence and the Kansas City metro.
Previously the owner and Director of Physical Therapy for Specialists in Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (SSOR) in Overland Park, Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and a master’s in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, Florida.
He also has a wealth of experience in the professional sports world. Dan worked as an athletic training intern for the Chicago White Sox; an assistant athletic trainer and physical therapist for the Kansas City Chiefs; and has served as a rehabilitation consultant for many local sports teams including Sporting Kansas City, Kansas City Chiefs and Mavericks, as well as local colleges including Mid-America Nazarene University and University of Missouri-Kansas City.
